TPE and TPR are a kind of rubber and plastic materials with the fastest application in recent years. They cover many kinds of branches and can be adjusted to change the physical properties of materials through mixing system. Therefore, TPE and TPR are more and more widely used in all walks of life. TPES,TPEV and TPU are the main thermoplastic elastomers. TPES based on SBC is the most commonly used branch of TPE, which is also known as TPE and TPR(based on SEBS and SBS). In this paper, TPE and TPR based on SEBS are taken as examples to discuss the main characteristics of elastomer TPE.
TPE has a wide range of applications because of its multifaceted properties. In this paper, based on many years of industry experience, the author summarizes the characteristics of TPE in seven words -- "elastic, plastic, sticky, scratch, soft, safe and stable", hoping to help readers understand the characteristics of TPE. The following is the elastomer TPE|TPR characteristics "seven words jue" interpretation:
1."Play" character formula
Play - this is the core feature of TPE|TPR. TPE thermoplastic elastomers differ from other polymer materials in that they are elastic. Elasticity refers to the fact that TPE materials will deform under the action of external force, but the material can return to its original shape after the external force is removed. TPE|TPR, its elastic recovery, vulcanized rubber than inferior. Because vulcanized rubber is vulcanized, the material is a crosslinked structure, and TPE is a block structure of hard and soft segments, and the structure formed by rubber phase and reinforced plastics is also a physical crosslink. Compared with the physical crosslinking structure of TPE, the crosslinked structure of vulcanized rubber has better resistance to permanent deformation. 4."Stick" character formula
Adhesion - is the processing characteristics of TPE. Here, it does not mean that TPE material surface itself has viscosity, but refers to TPE|TPR material can be through injection molding extrusion process, and other materials (usually plastic) through adhesive coating action, composite into a whole piece.
